summer holidays in the Alps

Summer Morzine

Hofnar > Summer > Summer Morzine

6 July, 13 July, 20 July or 27 July…

Summer in the mountains is unbelievably good. We are returning to our winter home Chalet Skade thoughout July 2024 and you should join us!
There will be two types of holidaymakers on these trips; those mountain biking every day and those who are going to do a bit of everything. Which are you?!

As ever there is no pressure and you can do as much or as little as you wish – it’s your holiday!

The chalet crew will run the multi-activity programme and will be getting up to all kinds of things; hiking, biking, rafting, SUPing, BBQing, paragliding, go karting, wild swimming, 100kph zip wiring, horse riding, picnicing, canyoning, climbing…

Feel free to dip in and out of either holiday – maybe just sunbathe on the balcony and read a book! Whatever works for you 🙂

Is this holiday for me?

YES!

You don’t have to be mega fit. The vibe is ‘active-minded’ and the ‘extremeness’ of the activities are tailored to who comes along. A gentle stroll along the river or taking on our Three Peaks. Downhill Biking on the World Cup trails or gently cruising on the green slopes… we’ll go at your pace.

The average age is probably about 30yrs old, but during the summe we don’t cap the ages.

People come from all over the world, although most are UK based.

Most come along solo – it’s kind of our thing. But we also get couples and small groups of friends. The trips are mega sociable, laid back and is a real fun thing to do.

Typical Multi Activity Itinerary

Day1: Make your way to Morzine. (Most fly into Geneva and then grab a transfer van for the 1hr20mins up to town) We’ll probably head out to a local restaurant for ‘wood-fired’ pizza in the evening, followed by a visit to a few of the local hostelries.

Day2: Hire mountain bikes and by taking the lifts up the mountain enjoy the day cruising back down on roads, tracks and trails. After stopping at the ‘Village of the goats’ for lunch, We could dip into the lake of Montriond for a swim in the afternoon sun.

Day3: You could start the day on the ‘Fantasticable,’ a zip wire that crosses the valley, over 200m in the air and over 100kph, That should wake you up a little. Afternoon by the olympic size pool (bring your Speedos!), early evening climbing ladders, rope swings, crossing waterfalls and swinging through the trees.

Day4: Short hike up the Pleney to lunch in a mountain restaurant. We can go visit the devil’s gorge in the afternoon. Devil go karting down the slopes in the evening.

Day 5: Ever abseiled down a waterfall? Now’s your chance, clamber through the Nyon waterfalls and plunge pools. This is Canyoning! Then take to the skies again with a tandem para glide in the afternoon. Can you smell the barbeque?

Day 6: Perhaps pony trekking or a round of disc golf or a game of tennis or a spot of mountain boarding or a spot of lazing in a deck chair, followed in the afternoon by White water rafting down the river Dranse.

Day 7: Mountain Biking on the other side of the valley, picnic lunch with incredible views. Let’s go down the toboggan run a couple of times in the evening, before tucking into a farewell dinner of fondue or ‘hot rock’ at a local restaurant.

Day 8: Transfer back to Geneva airport to be there at 10am

Sounds pretty good right?!

hOW mUCH?!

We need 6 people on each trip to make these viable. If the trip doesn’t reach this number, all of your monies will be returned including the deposit. The trips need to be of sufficient numbers before the 4th May, so get your name down quick!
