Every year I’m excited as a puppy for that first dollop of snow. I mean I know at this stage it’s all a bit daft – but seeing those webcams turn white does get a little something stirring!

Winter is coming!

8th September 2019 saw the first few flakes settle in the Portes du Soleil and is also the day that the Daily Mail released their annual classic WORST WINTER EVER type headline.

Obvs – any encouragement in the thinking that we are in for an epic winter is great news to us. We’ve been speaking with a few marmotte herders in Morzine-Avoriaz and they tell us that the herd has an unusually dense fur for this time of year. A clear sign that we are in for a bucket load of snow.*
