9th September 2021
£650 for 3 nights (£625 for Mate’sRates)
On the list for many, and completed by few… it’s a classic challenge and although often done in 24hrs – this is not. It’s way nicer to spread things out, enjoy the scenery, get some great food and really experience Great Britain’s highest peaks…
We’ll be joined on this trip by a fully qualified mountain guide from Bearded Men Adventures.
This is not just a ‘walk in the park’ and you need to have a good level of fitness – if you are in any doubt, do get in touch with us and we can work out together whether you are able to do this.
Either meet us in Fort William or join us in the minibus from London for the start of our adventure.
Itinerary (tbc)
Evening 1:
Meet at Glen Nevis Youth Hostel. In an ideal world we’ll all be there before dinner and over food we can meet our guide(s) and go over the plan for the next few days.
Day 1: BEN NEVIS, 1345m, aprox 4hrs up, 3hrs down
It’s an early start and we’ll aim to be strolling out by 6am. The walk is just over 4 miles each way – a total of 8 1/2 miles in all. As long as the weather Gods are on our side expect wondrous views across Scotland from the mountains of Skye in the northwest to the Cairngorms in the east.
We’ll return to the minibus and you can ‘zonk out’ for the 6hr drive to the Lake District. When we get to Wasdale Hall youth hostel we’ll grab a quick shower and some food before getting our heads down ready for another early start tomorrow.
Day 2: SCAFELL PIKE, 978m, aprox 3hrs up, 2 hrs down
Another 6am roll out sees us taking on the Lake District’s most famous Wainwright and England’s highest point. It’s a pretty steady plod with maybe a little scramble. The exact route will be decided by our guide – but we should be down in time for a pub lunch in the village before boarding the minibus to roar down the M6 for 4.5hrs to Wales.
Staying at Llanberis youth hostel we’ll eat and settle in for the night ready for our final ascent.
Day 3: SNOWDON, 1085m, aprox 4hrs up, 2.5hrs down
As it’s our last day we’ll have a lie in and head out at 7:30am. It’s a straight forward hike to the summit (there’s even a café at the top!) and we’ll take a different path down which will end at the Cwellyn Arms pub for a well deserved and celebratory ‘cheeky half.’
The minibus will pick us up there and take us back to London (dropping off at other points en route if need be)
