During the summer we love to surf and every month we head down to beautiful Mawgan Porth in Cornwall. These trips are specifically designed so that you don’t have to take any ‘holiday days’ from work.

Our weekends include lessons and kit hire (if you don’t need either, email us and we can adjust the price accordingly) – Most of the people that come on the regular trips are (in the nicest possible way) a bit rubbish at surfing or are complete beginners. (We also run trips for those of you who are already that bit more advanced, check out our Progressive Surf Weekends).

Join our Friday night surf bus – or make your own way – and head down to Cornwall to catch some waves.

Each morning we surf the gorgeous bay of Mawgan Porth. In the afternoons we get up to all kinds of stuff; more surfing? coasteering? coastal walking? wildlife boatride? go-karting … ? By night we camp, try and find live music and party. (You can stay in a caravan if you prefer)

No need to take any time off work – we’ll have you back in town on Sunday evening. A blast down to the coast is the perfect antidote to hectic city life.

We run these trips with the help of the ridiculously good bunch of guys and gals at KingSurf surf school.

Surfing holidays for solo travellers

Typical Itinerary

Friday
6pm Climb aboard the HOFNAR minibus at Hammersmith for the 5.5 hour drive down to Mawgan Porth. We stay at the brilliantly quirky Retorrick Mill campsite. You can camp or stay in one of their static caravans.

Saturday
Breakfast cooked up by your HOFNAR host before joining the gang from Kingsurf for your intro to surfing! Spend the afternoon honing your skills, chilling by the beach or let’s go coasteering! Dinner could be a barbecue or woodfired pizza at the campsite, local fish’n’chips…. A few drinks back at the campsite? Or should we hit Newquay?

Sunday
After more bacon butties, cereal and gallons of tea, we head back to the water and we’ll definitely stand up on that board today. Leave in the afternoon to be back in London for around 10pm.

Our bank holiday three-day trips mean an extra night before we head back to the city on Monday. Look out for the special bank holiday trips, Chill at the Mill festival, Progressive surf special, Stonehenge sightseeing and Boardmasters festival
